Let me introduce Korean traditional beverage~!!

 Recently, the most popular beverage in Korea is coffee. Many cafes are spring up and there is no town and region which have no cafe. Why do people drink coffee? The most big reason is image for coffee. If walking the street while drink coffee, we illusion that we are New Yoker. And many people drink coffee, so those who did not drink coffee depending those who do drink cofee. Also, there are many types of coffee and made a way of drinking coffee toothsomely, for example, put on the cream and chocolate syrup in the coffee. As a result, more and more people want coffee. But there is a harmful substance called caffeine in coffee. Therefore, Korean have to drink traditional beverage not coffee. It is made from grains and fruits, so we can feel it is good for our health and taste also excellent.

Now, let's go meet Korean traditional beverage~


1) Sikhye(식혜)

  'Sikhye' is made from brew the powered malt in water and rice. It is Korean traditional beverage has excellent sweet taste and ginger's scent. Sikhye's ingredient rice has a sweet taste and warm property. So it is appropriate birthday, festival and party because treat indigestion, lack of appetite, vomit and diarrhea. Also, sikhye is made of can, so we can find sikhye in vending machine easily. Of course, taste and nutrition is low than hommade, but if you miss sikhye, vending machine's sikhye is not bad.


2) Sujeonggwa(수정과)
 
 'Sujeonggwa' is made from ginger, cinnamon boiled water and sugar and dried persimmon and pine nut. It has dried persimmon's sweet taste and ginger's spicy taste, so has a distinctive flavor. Its name derived from 'cookies soaked in water' and certainly made in Lunar New Year's Day with sikhye. Sujeonggwa's ingredient ginger and cinnamon has warm property, so make strong lung and stomach. And they are promotes digestion and relieve stomachach and vomit symptom.


3) Omija Tea(오미자 차)
 
 'Omija Tea' is Korea Chinese medicine tea made from dried omija and water and honey and sugar. There are two ways of drinking tea. First, put the omija in boiled water and when water spring up from the omija, drink. Second, put omija power in sugar water and drink. Omija has five tastes, for example, a sweet taste,a sour taste, a bitter taste, a spicy taste, and a salty taste. Omija tea protects the lung's energy and treat the cough and vocal nodule.
 
 
 
In addition, there are Korean traditional beverage, for example, jujube tea, cinnamon tea, fruit salad, and so on. Tradition beverage is made taking into account the Korea's climate, tradition and Korean constitution, personalities. So if drink tradition beverage, it makes our body is warm and improve our healthy. Therefore, we should not drink only coffee, coke, soda and alcohal. Instead, we by drinking tradition beverage likes Sikhye, Sujeonggwa and Omija Tea should improve our healthy and mental satisfaction.

Korea's traditional foods!!



Let me introduce Korea's traditional foods~


 
 
 As every country has their foods, Korea also has their traditional foods. Korea's traditional foods are excellent as compared to other countries. Korea's traditional foods have a variety of nutrients, excellent taste and our mother's wisdom. Also, our eyes and mind captured to fancy decoration and form.
 
 There are many kinds of Korea's traditional foods, for example, kimchi, bibimbap, tteokguk and bulgogi, samgyetang, patjuk etc...
 
 In this post, let's know 'A brass chaping dish', 'Platter of nine delicacies', and 'Tangpyeongchae'. Because these foods are proud of their fancy form and have excellent taste, nutrients.
 
 
1) A brass chaping dish(신선로)
 
 

 'A brass chaping dish' is royal court food and its name was built for this picture's bowl is a brass chaping dish. Why named a brass chaping dish is from this food's elegance likes god. A brass chaping dish is place the charcoal in the middle of bowl and place the meats, vegetables, seafoods on the perimeter. Finally, pour the soup and eat boiled on the spot. It needs a variety of ingredients and has many time to cook. In the past, it was able to eat only king and rich. In modern time, a brass chaping dish is gourmet meal. 
 
 
 
2) Platter of nine delicacies(구절판)
 
























 'Platter of nine delicacies' is a dish to eat in a bowl that is divided into nine. It is divided into royal court food and commons food. And divided into watery platter of nine delicacies and dry platter of nine delicacies. First, watery platter of nine delicacies choose water parsley, cucumber, egg, abalone, sea cucumber, shrimp, a boiled chicken, beef, mushroom, ballon flower out of six and move into the platter. And place the pancakes in the middle. Second, dry platter of nine delicacies choose beef jerly, fish jerky, dried shrimp, and so on out of six. When eat, place the ingredients on top of the pancakes and wrapped
 
 
 
3) Tangpyeongchae(탕평채)
 
 
 'Tangpyeongchae' is named in Joseon dynasty. King Yeongjo of Joseon dynasty is decided on the goal to solve the opposition and conflict between a lot of influential men. So king Yeongjo carry tangpyeong plan into effect. In the process, tangpyeongchae was made. Tangpyeongchae is move in a jellied food, beef, mung beans sprout, water parsley, mugwort in a large bowl and mix it with soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar. And put on egg, laver, chili. Tangpyeongchae is usally eat from late spring to summer.
 
 
 
 
A brass chaping dish, Platter of nine delicacies, Tangpyeongchae and all of Korea's traditional foods have a lot of effort and passion in all areas. Around us, there are many other country's foods and fast food. Travel to Korean Tradition Restaurants~

 Because of rapidly changing world and rapidly changing pepole, we don't easy to find the Korean tradition foods and Korean tradition restaurants. Because of inflow of foreign capital, instead restaurants which have our tradition and history of quick and cheap and easy restaurants are constantly spring up. 
As a result, change our leisurely and slow life to fast and urgent life. Also, becasue of unhelathy instant foods and high-calorie foods, our health is worseing. But in Korea, there are some tradition restaurants which keep our tradition, history and consider our health.

Now, Let's travel to Korean Tradition Restaurants~!!

 


1) SOKRAN(석란)

 "SOKRAN" is located in Seoul. This restaurant is opened in 1981 and proud of their 30-year tradition. SOKRAN has elegant, delicate scent and doesn't has fancy, noisy mood. SOKRAN is trying to revive the our traditional foods and mother's taste. Also, because SOKRAN is revive the Korean food's taste and tradition, Andre Coangtro who France top cookery school's principal praised SOKRAN very highly. In SOKRAN, we can enjoy a variety of cool and warm foods. The most popular menu in Sokran is royal court food.


 
 
2) KOREA HOUSE(한국의 집)

 "KOREA HOUSE" is located in Seoul. This restaurant is opened in 1957 and proud of their 56-year tradition. KOREA HOUSE is Korean Table d'hote specialist restaurant and can enjoy traditional performance and royal court food in traditional Korean-style house. Main menu in KOREA HOUSE is showy a brass chaping dish and delicate platter of nine delicacies. Also, KOREA HOUSE is not only looking for a lot of foreign resaurant also not use artificial flavor enhancer.















3) JONGNO HALL(종로회관)

 "JONGNO HALL" is located in Jeonju traditional Korean village. This restaurant in opened in 1970 and proud of their 35-year tradition. We can watch a lot of traditional buildings on the second floor, because JONGNO HALL is close to these buildings. JONGNO HALL's main menu is bibimbap. Because bibimbap is one of three representative foods of the Joseon Dynasty and every respect as it is made with more than twenty ingredients. In JONGNO HALL, we can enjoy delicious bibimbap and beautiful Jeonju's culture buildings.




 That there are some Korean Tradition Restaurants is a great fortune for us. Through these restaurants, we can feel the Korea culture's superiority and taste of Korea again. Also, these traditional restaurants are teach us 'what is the true taste of Korea', 'What is the true composure and slow', and 'what is the ancestor's wisdom and heart'. Therefore, we need to appreciate our Korean tradition foods and Korean tradition restaurants...
