To the people of each country, their culture and tradition and food is most excellent and important. But we can't live always enjoy themselves. While enjoy other country's culture and tradition and food, we can turn our eyes to the wider world and gain a lot of experiences and knowledges. So from this blog, we will learn other coutry's traditional foods. Are you ready?
In this blog, we will learn neighboring country of Korea, Japanese traditional foods. Development of the fish dishes in Japan, because it is island nation and Japanese rice and soup and fry dishes are also popular.
1) Sashimi
"Sashimi" is representative food in Japan and it is known raw fish. There are a variety of sashimi dishes in Japan because developed from an early age how to eat fish. There are a lot of ingredients and how to cut the fish, so 'sashimi culture' had been made. There are many sashimi recipes, for example, cutting at an angle to the fish, hikidscuri and cutting flesh thick fish, kadozucuri, cutting white fish, konbu cimezucuri, cutting slightly ripen fish, yubizucuri and removing the fat of the fish, arai.
2) Natto
"Natto" is fermented soybean Japanese tradition food. Particularly, natto is eaten breakfast and Japaense essential source of nutrition because is has abundant protein. It has distinctive flavor and taste and high visocity and growing long nature, so it can be eaten if tamed it. Especially, in the easten part of the Kanto region to eat a lot. Natto is similar to Korea's cheonggukjang. Nattio is popular because it is anti-aging and prevent of cancer and diabetes. Also, it is prevent of cardiovascular disesases and effective on a diet. But there are many people who dislike natto, because it has a stinking smell.
3) Okonomiyaki
"Okonomiyaki" is a popular food like Korea's bindaetteok and pancake and America's pizza. Okonomiyaki's name is made Okonomi: faviorite things + Yaki: bake. Namely, it is a dish that select the ingredients to suitable our taste and cooked in the steel plate. But it is mainly made by dough with cabbage, egg, flour and three pork belly of outside. After that, eat sprinkle bonito and unique source and mayonnaise. Okonomiyaki is popular in throughout Japan but eat in Osaka in particular.
★ Through the Japanese traditional foods, learned Japan and Korea's food culture is very similar. Natto is similar to Korea's cheonggukjang because they have stingky smell and high viscocity and good for our health. Okonomiyaki is similar to Korea's bindaetteok and pancake because they are steel plate foods. And could feel Japan also have self-respect about their history and tradition.

Hello Jae Won. I used to live in Japan, so I know about these three foods. Unfortunately, I don't really like any of them, haha. Natto is too smelly, sashimi is raw fish, not cooked, so I don't like it, and okonomiyaki is too thick with a fishy flavor (bonito flakes) so I also don't like that. Could we say I'm a picky eater? Probably...
